Waveplates / Rotators

A waveplate or retarder is an optical device that alters the polarization state of a light beam traveling through it. Precision Micro-Optics offers a full range of waveplates, from eighth waveplates, Quarter waveplates, half waveplates, full waveplates, to free standing waveplates, cemented waveplates, and achromatic waveplates. Applications range from aerospace to telecommunication. Zero-order wave plates are temperature insensitive phase retarders for moderate bandwidth applications. Achromatic waveplates are made from two different materials such as crystal quartz and magnesium fluoride to provide a wider bandwidth.
