Yttrium Vanadate (YVO4)

YVO4 is a positive uniaxial crystal grown by the Czochralski method. It has good mechanical properties, large birefringence and a wide transparency range, which make it ideal for many optical polarizing components, such as beam displacer and Glan polarizer. Compared to calcite, YVO4 has better temperature stability, mechanical properties, and is not susceptible to moisture. Compared to Rutile (TiO2), YVO4 is easier thus cheaper to polish.
