Low Expansion Materials

Materials such as fused silica, Zerodur, Pyrex and VYCOR brand glass share one particular property, low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). They are also chemically stable, mechanically strong and easy to polish. These materials are suited for applications in which temperature stability, thermal shock, or resistance to chemical attack are primary considerations.
